About Us

Marshland Acres is owned & operated by Marty & Mary Weiss. They are the 4th generation to work this century old farm. They have one son, three daughters and eight grandchildren. Their son, Bronson, farms with them, and is working toward becoming the 5th generation operator. The farm consists of approximately 1000 acres of land, and rents an additional 1000 acres. The majority of the crop acreage is under irrigation.

The Primary focus of their business is custom raising dairy heifers. The farm raises hay, corn silage, and rye which are fed to the heifers. The business also helps support their local economy by buying the balance of the necessary forages from other farmers in the local area.

The Weiss’ have always taken pride in their clean and well run operation. They have implemented many environmentally friendly practices into their existing heifer and agronomy operations. The farm has hosted many tours to demonstrate these to other farmers and land conservation employees.
